While the term "Grievance Redressal" primarily covers the receipt and processing of complaints from citizens, a wider definition includes actions taken on any issue raised by them to avail services more effectively.
Normally citizens lodge their complaints when a service is not properly received from their local government.
A service should be delivered to a citizen as early as possible. To streamline the processing a particular period is normally fixed as per the right to service delivery act. Every service provider shall deliver the requested service within the time frame. Where a service is denied it attracts action against the officers concerned. There are cases when the service being delivered does not meet the requirement of the applicant. In all these cases the local body authorities need to take the action according to the existing procedures.
If they are not able to deliver the service the reason should be given in the reply.
